For the Cake
  • 2 pieces ripe pears, peeled and diced
  • 100 g almond flour
  • 100 g all-purpose flour
  • 150 g sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 120 ml milk
  • 100 g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 100 g dark chocolate, melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 50 g sliced almonds for topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Grease your cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the almond flour, all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, beat the sugar and eggs until creamy.
  5. Stir in the melted chocolate and vanilla extract into the egg mixture.
  6. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with the milk until fully combined.
  7. Gently fold in the diced pears.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  9. Sprinkle the sliced almonds on top.
  10. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Dust with powdered sugar or pair with whipped cream or ice cream for an indulgent treat. For added flavor, consider spices like cinnamon or nutmeg.
